Abstract
Objectives: To present the data generated at our hospital by comparing operative characteristics and surgical results of patients who applied to clinic emergency room due ovarian cyst underwent laparoscopy or laparotomy.
Materials Methods: In this retrospective study, cystectomy, oophorectomy, hysterectomy salpingo-oophorectomy cysts were compared in two groups, comprising laparotomy. Evaluated retrospectively study 443 operated on benign diagnosis. Data patient files analyzed terms age, size, postoperative hemoglobin, white blood cell count, operating time, stay, site infection.
Results: Postoperative infection was significantly higher laparotomy group. The risk RR= 4. 5 (1.74–11.67) times those when laparoscopy. duration stay lower group for all operation types (oophorectomy, salpingo-oophorectomy). sizes more significant longer group, while no difference found oophorectomy cystectomy patients. need transfusion types.
Conclusions: It concluded that infection, transfusion, time less Laparoscopic surgery methods can be safely recommended rapid effective treatment with laparoscopic about complications.
